WABASH,Indiana – MiBash News received an press release from Wabash Fire Chief Barry Stroup about a fire last night at 700 Lafontaine Ave. right past the railroad underpass. The release is s follows.
The Wabash Fire Department responded to a barn/shed fire on 05/04/2016 at 2056. The fire was at approximately 700 Lafontaine Ave. The fire was controlled at approximately 2200 with crews remaining on scene until 0030 to complete extinguishment. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. The building was freely burning when crews arrived and efforts were hampered by a tall, steel fence in front of the property and a power line that had dropped onto the fence. The fire was contained to the building of origin. Damage estimates are unknown due to unknown value prior to the fire.
