Suspicious Activity at Knight’s Inn Leads to Two Arrests

WABASH – On August 20, 2016, at approximately 8:30 p.m. Wabash City Police investigated a tip that suspicious activity might be going in a room at the Knights Inn. Wabash City Police furthered their investigation and found that Nicole E. Cooper, 22, Rensselaer, Indiana was staying at the Knights Inn and was wanted out of Tippecanoe County, Indiana for an active arrest warrant. Sgt. Matt Benson, Patrolman Dan Henderson, and Patrolman Larry Long knocked on the door of the hotel room and were able to take Nicole Cooper into custody. While inside the hotel room, officers located Eric S. Wright, 37, Rensselaer, who also had an active arrest warrant out of White County, Indiana. While in the hotel room officers allege they located illegal narcotics and paraphernalia in plain view. A search warrant was obtained and search of the room was conducted where officers allege they located more illegal narcotics. Cooper and Wright are being held in the Wabash County Jail for numerous narcotic related charges such as Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Syringe, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia. Wabash City Police second shift was assisted at the scene by uniform officers from third shift. Wabash City Police thank alert citizens in helping report any suspicious activity.
