Richard (Rick) Mitchell (76) of River Forest, Illinois passed away on June 5, 2023. Rick was born to Maurice and Violet Mitchell on March 4, 1947. He was a beloved art teacher, coach, and mentor to many students at Wabash City Schools. He selflessly offered his time and expertise, sharing his knowledge and life experiences to help shape the lives of those he encountered. He spent many summers managing the Wabash City Pool and playing tennis. He was known for his sense of humor and love for convertibles. Rick is survived by his son, Jay & Cait Mitchell and daughter, Tara & Andy Kingsley, along with his five grandchildren. Rick was predeceased by his parents, wife, Ellen Mitchell, and brother, Robert Mitchell. Family will receive friends from 10 am – 12 pm Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, Indiana 46992.
