This from the Kokomo Tribune:

PERU, IN- A woman was arrested early Thursday morning on multiple drug charges after a traffic stop in Peru, the Peru Police reported. Crystal D. Butler, 37, Peru, was driving southbound on Benton Street from Sixth Street when she committed a traffic violation, according to a press release from the police department. She stopped near the intersection of Third and Thrush streets when K9 Officer Jeremy Brindle approached the vehicle about 2:20 a.m. “Officer Brindle noticed Crystal was acting suspicious in that she kept looking at the floorboard, and that she kept clinching her legs together around a backpack on the floorboard,” the release read. Brindle deployed his K9, Darro, who performed a free air sniff, leading officers to search the vehicle. “As Crystal exited the vehicle she was observed to move her left arm toward the center console. Crystal then made a fist with her left hand and placed it behind her back. She tried to reach back into the vehicle near the floorboard. However Officer Brindle grabbed her arm. She dropped what she had possessed in her hand. It was determined that she had a wrapper in her hand. Inside the wrapper was Suboxone, a schedule three narcotic,” the release said. She also also admitted to having two hydrocodone tablets in her jacket pocket, police said, and a search of the backpack revealed narcotics in a pill bottle that did not belong to her. Butler was transported to the Miami County Jail and charged with possession of a narcotic drug, possession of a controlled substance and 12 counts of possession of a legend drug. Her bond was set at $71,000.
