Pence Nominates Holcomb As Next Lt. Governor On Tuesday

INDIANAPOLIS,Indiana – Governor Mike Pence announced his intention to nominate Eric Holcomb to replace Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann on Tuesday afternoon. Holcomb has worked as Governor Mitch Daniel’s Deputy Chief Of Staff and has experience in the Federal government as Senator Coats’ state Chief Of Staff. Pence called Holcomb a man of “integrity, character, and experience” who will serve Hoosiers well. Ellspermann said that she is pleased with Gov. Pence’s choice and added that Holcomb has a distinguished record of service to his nation and state. After transitioning out of her office as Lieutenant Governor, Ellspermann will become the President of Ivy Tech Community College. In a press release Holcomb said that he and his wife Janet were excited and grateful by the nomination and will “champion the kinds of policies that continue to strengthen our great state.”

The Governor’s choice must next pass in the House and Senate.
