Fort Wayne, Ind., February 20, 2017 – The Parkview Wabash Foundation recently welcomed two new leaders to its board – a new chairman, Steve Hentgen, and new vice chairman, Jordan Tandy.

“The new slate of officers continues the strong leadership tradition of past Hospital Foundation Boards,” said Beth Squires Stein, director, Parkview Wabash Foundation. “Steve and Jordan represent different parts of the community and have demonstrated service leadership in their commitment to Wabash as well as care of the community through thoughtful decision making and fearless approach to complicated decisions and tasks. The Parkview Wabash Foundation is proud to announce their increased involvement as we prepare to move into the future of healthcare with a new building.”

The Parkview Wabash Foundation’s new Board Chairman, Steve Hentgen, graduated in 1975 from Vincennes University with an Associate Degree in Business, and is a 1976 graduate of the Indiana College of Mortuary Science. Steve has been a licensed funeral director in Wabash since 1977 and is president of Grand staff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Inc. and Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Inc. Steve and his wife, Jane, have two sons, Nick, a funeral director with the firm, and Alex, employed by Midwest Eye, as well as a granddaughter.

When he isn’t spending time with his family or working, Steve serves as a member of Wabash First United Methodist, where he sings in the church choir and the George Berg Quartet. He is a member of Wabash Kiwanis Club, Wabash Optimist Club, Wabash Masonic Lodge #61, Fort Wayne Scottish Rite and Mizpah Shrine, Wabash Shrine Club, and Wabash Elks and Moose Lodges. He also serves on the Honeywell House board of overseers and the Crossroads Bank board of directors, and as board president of the Community Foundation of Wabash County.

Jordan Tandy, the newly appointed Vice Board Chair, received his undergraduate degree from Ball State University, an MBA from Valparaiso University and his Juris Doctor from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

Jordan Tandy and his wife, Ashley, moved to Wabash in 2010. He is a practicing member of the Wabash County Bar Association, specializing in family law, criminal defense and estate planning with Tiede, Metz, Downs, Tandy and Petruniw. Jordan has also served on the Community Corrections Advisory Board and the Wabash Re-Entry Court Board.

As current chief volunteer officer of the YMCA board and co-chair of the South Side Park Project, he still manages to find time to serve on Habitat for Humanity’s board of directors and on the Wabash Marketplace, Inc. Design Committee. The Tandys attend church at Zion Lutheran in Wabash and serve on their Missions Board. In his free time, Jordan enjoys watching soccer, playing tennis, and spending time with his daughter and wife.

“The Foundation is so blessed to have both Steve and Jordan taking leadership roles this year. They have a great deal of history with the Foundation. They both bring great leadership skills and passion to help us continue to work toward providing great care for the citizens of Wabash County and beyond,” said Parkview Wabash Hospital President Marilyn J. Custer-Mitchell.
