Northfield Art Students shine at National Competition

Wabash, IN- Northfield High School visual art students recently won a multitude of awards at the Scholastics Art and Writing Competition. Northfield students were awarded an impressive 27 awards in total, an incredible accomplishment!

A special congratulations to the 10 students who claimed awards: Tayten Barlow, Layne Denton, Ella Gahl, Hank Gray, Nate Hodson, Jaycie Krom, Kenzie Mucker, Mae Napier, Breslyn Swihart, and Emerson Zwiebel.

Recognition also goes to Northfield Art Teacher Adam Zwiebel, who continues to instruct and inspire student artists to high levels of accomplishment.

“I always feel lucky and honored to work at a school that values and supports the fine arts,” stated Zwiebel. “The administration at MSDWC and Northfield truly support my vision for the Northfield Visual Art Department, and that allows me to just simply teach. For that, I am grateful.”

Two Northfield students also recently received honors at Huntington University’s High School Art Exhibition. Mae Napier was awarded an Honorable Mention, and Layne Denton was awarded an Honorable Mention and 2nd Place overall.

MSD of Wabash County is proud of these students for their hard work and dedication to their craft. The district hopes they continue to create, pursue their passions, and inspire others to do the same.
