WABASH,Indiana – On Monday, May 23rd, 29-year-old North Manchester resident Tara Enix was sentenced to four years in jail, two years suspended, for the level 5 felony of dealing methamphetamine and a level 6 felony charge of possession of methamphetamine.

According to an affidavit of probable cause by now Assistant Police Chief Bob Pilgrim, the original incident happened on June 29th, 2015. On a tip, police attempted to serve a warrant on Matt Hayslip at 80 ½ North Miami Street in Wabash. When officers knocked on the door, they smelled the strong smell associated with the cooking of meth. The gentleman who answered the door, Cory Mofford, told police that Hayslip was not inside. While police were obtaining a search warrant, the Wabash Drug Task Force was called and police discovered a meth lab inside.

An affidavit by Officer Josh Prater states that he observed a female sitting on the bed inside the apartment. That woman, Tara Enix, allegedly told police that she had pseudoephedrine in her bra. Later, Enix apparently took several other things out of her bra, including a coffee filter wrapped in kleenex which is often used in the manufacture of meth. She was initially arrested for aiding in manufacturing in methamphetamine and visiting a common nuisance.

According to an affidavit of probable cause by jail officer Daleena Bailey, three hypodermic needles were taken out of her bra after she arrived at the Wabash County Jail. Enix then advised that she was concealing drug-related items in her private parts. This included two complete needles and two separate needles in pieces. Additionally, a small pink baggie fell out of her clothes which contained a white residue. She told jail officers that the baggie contained meth.

Enix pled guilty to the charges on April 4th.
