North Manchester Police Department Summer Impaired Driving Enforcement Project August – September 2017

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Chief Jim Kirk of the North Manchester Police Department announced today that during the months of August and September, 4 officers from the North Manchester Police Department worked a total of 270 hours of the federally funded overtime Summer Impaired Driving Enforcement Project. This is an enforcement project that pays officers to work during their off duty time and is funded by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute which targets impaired drivers. During the August and September enforcement patrols stopped 356 vehicles which resulted in 28 arrests for the following: 3 driving while suspended with prior, 18 criminal misdemeanors and 7 criminal felonies. The North Manchester Police Department also issued 614 citations and warnings for various traffic related violations.
