Marion Police Respond to Single Vehicle Crash

MARION, IN- Today at approximately 12:15 p.m., officers from the Indiana State Police and the Marion Police Department responded to a single vehicle crash on Baldwin Avenue near Spencer Avenue, in which a Marion man was injured.

The preliminary crash investigation by Senior Trooper A.J. Coffee revealed that Kent Wilson, 48, Marion, IN was driving a 2006 Dodge pickup truck southbound on Baldwin Avenue near Spencer Avenue. For an undetermined reason, the Dodge traveled off the west side of the road. The truck hit a utility pole and came to final rest on its side.

Wilson was flown from the crash scene, via medical helicopter, to a Ft. Wayne hospital. He suffered unknown injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation but at this time neither the use of alcohol nor narcotics is suspected as being a contributing factor in the crash.

Wilson is a Marion Police officer who was off duty at the time of the crash.
