Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Travis Tackett officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Huntington.

Jack was born on December 2, 1943 in Virgie, Kentucky, the son of Ishmel and Della (Hampton) Tackett. He married Dinah Hall on March 14, 1964 in Huntington. For 30 years, he worked at United Technologies in Andrews, where he was a supervisor. He then worked in tool setup at PHD in Huntington for 17 years, retiring in 2017. Jack loved to be outside and enjoyed golfing and working on cars.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Dinah Tackett of Huntington; a daughter, Rhonda “Karen” (husband Jerry) Spillman of Indianapolis; special grandsons Justin L. Spillman and Jason L. Spillman, both of Indianapolis; sisters Delora Burke of Virgie, Kentucky and Annetta Burnsworth of Huntington; and a brother, Gomer Tackett of Huntington. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Faye Caudill, and a brother, Clarence Tackett.
