HUNTINGTON, IN- Bernice D. Eubank, age 72, of 4127 East – 300 South, Rock Creek Township,
Markle, Indiana was found to be deceased on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 18:00 hours at her residence from sharp force injuries sustained as a result of an attack on her person.
Huntington County Sheriff’s Deputies were summoned to the residence to conduct a welfare check of the
homeowner after family members had not heard from her in several days. She was discovered deceased on the property and an in-depth death investigation was conducted. Evidence would indicate she had been deceased for a period time prior to discovery. Her cause of death is multiple sharp force injuries, and the manner of death has been ruled homicide. The investigation is ongoing.
A suspect has been identified – Anthony J. Castleman, age 37, the decedent’s grandson. Detectives are currently working with the Huntington County Prosecutors office to obtain an arrest warrant on a preliminary charge of murder. Mr. Castleman is not in custody. Anyone having information on the whereabouts of Mr. Castleman are asked not to approach him.
