WABASH, Ind. – The Honeywell Foundation Vocal Impact Youth Choir will be soon warming its voices for its fifth season. Registration for students in grades K-12 can be done online at https://www.honeywellfoundation.org/vocal-impact.

Vocal Impact is a program of the Honeywell Foundation Educational Outreach Program which provides choral instruction and character-building to Wabash County youths ages five and older under the direction of Emily France, Artistic Director.

Rehearsals are as follows: on Sunday evenings this year with rehearsals taking place in the Honeywell Center Nixon Room unless otherwise noted. The first rehearsal will be on Sunday, September 10. Below is the weekly rehearsal time schedule:

Vocal Impact Choir One & Elite; Sundays from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.

Vocal Impact Junior Choir – Sundays from 4:00 – 4:45 p.m.

Each choir will have its own unique repertoire of music and will perform separately from one another except at the annual Closing Concert when both choirs will perform in one concert, including at least one combined number.

When asked what inspired her to start the choir, Mrs. France replied that she felt called to use music to improve the lives of children. “Every aspect of this program has been designed to foster a sense of self-worth, self-confidence and life purpose,” France said. “I believe every person is given gifts and talents and it is up to us to utilize them for good.”

Vocal Impact’s season lasts from September through May and includes several performances and opportunities to work with professional musicians and artists.  The choir’s mission is to impact the world around us, one voice at a time.

The Vocal Impact Youth Choir is part of the Honeywell Foundation Educational Outreach Program which serves to expand arts opportunities for children in the region through curriculum-based, arts-in-education opportunities including in-school artist residencies, page-to-stage student matinees, visual and performing arts programs, and much more. There is no cost to participate in Vocal Impact which reflects the Outreach goal of no barrier to entry and the larger Honeywell Foundation mission of providing artistic opportunities for all.
