Honeywell Center line-up increases by 2

WABASH, Ind. – The Honeywell Center has added two new shows to its list of entertainment for 2019. All Elvis-lovers won’t want to miss The Elvis Tribute Artist Spectacular with special guests The Blackwoods, scheduled for Sun., Jan. 20 at 3 p.m. Then, on Sat., April 13, 2019 at 7:30 pm., will be a return performance of the highly celebrated Celtic WomanAncient Land. Tickets go on sale Oct. 24 at 10 a.m.

Join Elvis impersonators Shawn Kush, Cody Ray Slaughter and Ryan Pelton as they perform inThe Elvis Tribute Artist Spectacular. This concert celebrates the music of the Elvis Presley era, beginning with the early rock-a-billy years, his time in the military, his movie-making years and his 1968 Comeback Special in black leather.  The show will close with the Las Vegas and concert years. Appearing as special guests will be The Blackwoods who have been awarded eight Grammys, 27 Dove Awards, five All-American Music Awards, the Publishers Choice Diamond Award, and the coveted Living Legend Award in Gospel Music. In addition to all the accolades, the family has also performed with the likes of Johnny Cash and June Carter, Dolly Parton, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, and pop icons such as Frankie Avalon, Cher, and Sammy Davis, Jr. The Blackwoods were a big part of the Branson music scene for many years with their own show at the Ozark Jubilee Theater, before moving to Pigeon Forge where they based their show for 15 years. Today, the Blackwood family legacy is carried on by R.W. Blackwood Jr. and his wife Donna. Tickets are $75 and $39.

Celtic Woman (www.celticwoman.com), the Grammy®-nominated, multi-platinum international music group today announced its return to North America with a brand new live show, Ancient Land. The tour announcement comes on the heels of the release of the 13th studio album of the same name. Celtic Woman will visit nearly 70 North American cities in 2019. Celtic Woman Ancient Land will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, October 24. Tickets are $110, $65 and $45.

Ancient Land is the next chapter of Celtic Woman’s extraordinary musical journey as the group continues to touch the hearts of a huge global audience with the centuries-old Irish tradition of telling stories through song: stories of the land, stories of love and stories of dancing — songs that will bring a piece of Ireland to audiences everywhere.  A brand-new concert spectacular will air on PBS stations this fall (check local listings for airdates).  The outdoor concert will be filmed against the backdrop of the historic Johnstown Castle in County Wexford, Ireland, featuring the brand new music from Ancient Land, timeless Irish favorites and unexpected cover songs.  

Continuing the remarkable legacy of introducing some of Ireland’s most talented singers and musicians onto the world stage, Celtic Woman features the angelic voices of Megan Walsh, MairéadCarlin, Éabha McMahon and the breathtaking Celtic violinist Tara McNeill, accompanied by a full ensemble of musicians and dancers. Celtic Woman celebrates Ireland’s rich musical and cultural heritage and combines the finest musical talent with epic stage productions to present a unique, inspiring live experience.

Recorded in Real World Studios in the UK this past summer, Ancient Land is the thirteenth studio album featuring all new material for Celtic Woman including original compositions “Follow Me,” “Be Still” and “Love & Honour (instrumental), Irish traditional songs “Sive,” “Mná na hÉireann(Women of Ireland)” andMoorlough Shore” and some reimagined workings of contemporary songs “Long Journey Home,” “Going Home” and “Homeland.”
