Crime Stoppers is happy to be a small part of making Grant County a safer place to live, but it takes three elements for a Crime Stoppers program to be successful. The first is the Community, because citizens are responsible for forming a Crime Stoppers non-profit corporation, whose directors establish policy, determine amount and method of reward payments, work closely with law enforcement and the media and generally oversee the program. Also citizens are the ones who are calling into Crime Stoppers to make tips on crimes that could ultimately lead to a cash reward, Secondly the Media is vital as they publicize on a regular basis by all media outlets including print, broadcast, and web-based partners. The main way Grant County Crime Stoppers gets information out to the public is through “Crimes of the Week”, which focuses on cold cases, narcotics activity, wanted fugitives, and recent crimes. Lastly the local Law Enforcement as these agencies process the anonymous tips received through Crime Stoppers, and work towards solving crimes.

As a reminder, citizens of Grant County call 765-662-TIPS (8477), which is staffed 24 hours a day or login into www.p3tips.com and submit tips. Once the information is gathered it is forwarded to the Crime Stoppers Coordinator, who is responsible for making initial inquiries and the information is passed on to the appropriate agency.
