Four New shows booked at Honeywell Center

WABASH, Ind. The Honeywell Center has booked four new shows that cover nearly every genre of the entertainment spectrum.  Leading off in July will be the classic rock band Kansas, followed in September by the 80’s heavy metal band Dokken, with their special guest Jack Russell’s Great White.Appearing in October will be a first-time performance by the celebrated Country artist, LeAnn Rimes.  Finishing the lineup in November will be a return performance of Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Ballet. Tickets for all four shows go on sale Fri., April 27 at 10 a.m.

Kansas, a rock favorite from the 70s, will appear on the Honeywell Center Ford Theater stage on Sun., July 29 at 7:30 p.m.  Kansas appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks throughout the 1970s and 1980s and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America, Europe and Japan. The band will perform a set of their radio classics including “Dust in the Wind” and “Carry OnWayward Son.” With more Top100 hits in the set than ever before, Kansas fans will also hear some classic B-Sides, fan favorites, and material off the band’s latest studio album, The Prelude Implicit.Tickets to see Kansas in concert are $100, $65 and $45.

Dokken will be rocking the Ford Theater stage on Sat., Sept., 8, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. Dokken madethe heavy metal scene in Los Angeles in the early 1980s. Their album “Breaking the Chains” set the stage for the band to becoming the most dominant creative and commercial force in the world of melodic hard rock for the following years. Such classic albums as “Tooth and Nail”, “Under Lock and Key” and “Back for the Attack” all became Multi-Platinum selling smashes and the live “Beast from the East” went gold in Europe and Japan. Songs like “Alone Again”, “Just Got Lucky”, “Into the Fire”, “In My Dreams”, “Unchain the Night”, “Dream Warriors”, “Burning like a Flame” and “Heaven Sent” are still nowadays regarded among the genre’s finest.

Dokken has shared the stage with AC/DC, Metallica, Aerosmith, Judas Priest, Van Halen, Kiss, Scorpions, as well as Bon Jovi, just to name a few. Their concert at the Honeywell Center will include special guest, Jack Russell’s Great White, a band that is also known for its rock and heavy metal music. Multi-platinum and award-winning songwriter LeAnn Rimes will appear for the first time on the Ford Theater stage on Oct. 12, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. Rimes is an internationally multi-platinum selling acclaimed singer and ASCAP award-winning songwriter. She recently inked a worldwide deal with RCA UK who released her 16th studio album, Remnants on Feb. 3, 2017. The album debuted at #4 on Billboard’s Independent Album Chart and peaked at #3 on iTunes ® overall charts in its first week.  The first single released in the U.S. was “Long Live Love”, which has peaked at # 1 on Billboard’s Dance Chart and held the #1 spot for multiple weeks. Her second dance single “LovE is LovE is LovE” toppedthe Billboard Dance Chart at #1 shortly after its debut, making this her 3rd career #1 dance chart-topper. And most recently, Rimes released her third installment of her trilogy of love with her latest dance single, “Love Line”. Tickets are $75, $45 and $35.

Appearing once again at the Honeywell Center will be Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker on Sat., Nov. 3, 2018 at 3 p.m. In 1993, Moscow Ballet toured the Great Russian Nutcracker to Washington DC, Baltimore, Syracuse, Orlando, Ft Lauderdale, New Haven, Reading and Charleston WV for the first time to critical acclaim. Directed and choreographed by Stanislav Vlasov, former soloist with the Bolshoi Ballet, and well known as a “Grand Dance Artist,” the inaugural six-week tour starred principal ballerina Lillia Sabitova. It also featured the innovative rolling backgrounds first created by a St. Petersburg Conservatory of Music producer, and which were the inspiration for Eisenstein’s cinematic technique. Since then the annual tour has increased to include about 100 performances on the tour to cities from San Juan to Calgary, and from New York to California, traveling with two simultaneously touring companies of forty dancers each. Tickets are $80 (gold package), $60, $48 and $30.
