WABASH COUNTY, Ind. – Here is Wabash County Clerk Elaine Martin with important election deadline information:
“The deadline for the Democratic or Republican Party to conduct a political party caucus is June 30, 2018 by noon. The deadline to file a declaration of candidacy to fill a vacancy on the general election for a local office is Wed June 27, 2018. A copy of that declaration must also be filed with the chairman of the caucus at least 72 hours before the time set for the caucus.
Monday, July 2, 2018 by noon is the deadline to file a petition of nomination to place an independent candidate or minor party candidate on the 2018 general election ballot.
A candidate that was on the Primary ballot and did not win may NOT run again for the same office as a different party (Republican, Democrat or Independent). In Indiana that is called the “sore loser” law. They may however run for another office.
The general election is Tuesday, Nov 6th”
