PERU – Peru Police Department responded to an accident involving a bicycle and a car. Tuesday evening at 5:48, August 23rd, Gloria Luke of Peru was driving a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica, was traveling east on Daniel street. Logan Hartleroad, age 12, was on a bicycle traveling west on the North side of the sidewalk. Ms. Luke states the vehicle in front of her began to slow down, she says she was paying attention to the vehicle in front of her, when she heard her child say “MOM STOP.” At that point, the bicycle and the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica collided. Logan Hartleroad stated he cut across street. A witness says the bicycle that Logan Hartleroad was riding came out of nowhere, he was transported to Dukes Hospital, where he had injuries to his lower leg, foot, and abrasion to his knee. Ms. Luke suffered injuries to her shoulder and pain in her upper arm.
