Arliss Ann Zerbe

Arliss Ann Zerbe, 69, of Gas City, passed away at 2:20 pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024, in her home. She was born in Longmont, Colorado, on Sunday, November 28, 1954, to Arnold and Betty (Bounds) Colcleasure. On September 7, 1979, she married William Zerbe, and he preceded her in death on May 21, 2022.

Arliss graduated from Longmont High School and attended Colorado School of Mines. She served in the United States Army and had been stationed at Fort Riley Kansas and Fort Hood Texas. She achieved the rank of SP4 and was honorably discharged.

Following her military service, Arliss worked for the Indiana BMV, Indiana Unemployment Office and as a security guard at General Motors in Marion.

Arliss participated in the VFW, Widow Warriors on Facebook, and Marion Grant County Humane Society. Arliss was an animal lover and had several pets over the years. She loved to play video games, especially Zelda and Super Mario. She was an avid gardener and liked to sew. More than anything Arliss loved to spend time with her growing family.

Survivors include her children, Clay (Jessica) Zerbe of Gas City, Jennifer Zerbe of Gas City, and Bill (Desiree) Carlson of WA; 7 grandchildren; brother, Eric (Tammy) Colcleasure of Eckley, CO, sister-in-law, Pam (Tony) Bennett; plus, several nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arnold Edgar Colcleasure, Sr.; mother, Betty Ann Colcleasure; loving husband, William Zerbe; and brother, Arnold Colcleasure, Jr.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral to celebrate Arliss’s life will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. An urn burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery at a later date.
