American Rescue Plan funds approved by Peru City Council

PERU, IN- During this week’s Peru City Council meeting $1.2 million was approved in American Rescue Plan funding to be put towards various projects and outdated equipment for the City.

Peru Utilities will receive funds to separate wastewater and storm water lines south of the Wabash River as part of a nationwide project.

Peru Street Department will receive funds to replace an old dump truck.

Plans to complete renovation on the Peru Fire Department’s second location at 680 N. Broadway were approved in the ARP funds.

Peru Police Department was included in the approved ARP funds to replace outdated vehicles, equipment, and purchase new body cameras.

Another portion of the funding will go towards installing drainage on sections of Peru Municipal Golf Course.

The next Peru City Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 11th at 6pmin the chamber at Peru City Hall.
