WABASH, IN- Kevin Evenson was promoted to Captain. Cpt. Evenson joined the Wabash Police Department on June 27, 2011. Cpt. Evenson was previously 3rd shift Sergeant. Cpt. Evenson is an ILEA General Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Physical Tactics Instructor, and certified ALICE Instructor. Captain Evenson will be in charge of 3rd shift.
Matt Shrider was promoted to Sergeant. Sgt. Shrider joined the Wabash Police Department on July 05, 2007. Sgt. Shrider was previously a patrolman on 1st Shift. Sgt. Shrider is ILEA General Instructor and Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor. Sgt. Shrider was previously a K9 handler, drug task force member, Certified in Drug Recognition, and Clandestine lab certified. Sgt. Shrider will be on 1st shift Sergeant.
Drew Bender was promoted to Sergeant. Sgt. Bender joined the Wabash Police Department in September 2016. Sgt. Bender was previously a patrolman on 3rd Shift. Sgt. Bender is currently Wabash Police’s sole K9 handler. Sgt. Bender currently works 3rd shift and will now be 3rd shift Sergeant.
