jslacian@thepaperofwabash.comWabash Park Superintendent Adam Hall (right) presents Park Board president Jon Baker a plaque for his more than 30 years on the board.
Baker, who presided over his last board meeting on Wednesday  night, joined the board in November 1984.
He is retiring from the board at the end of the year.
Baker, during the meeting, reflected on his time on the board, noting that the board used to meet in the log cabin at Wabash City Park. However, that changed one night when the board entered the cabin only to be overtaken by a large swarm of bees.
For more on Baker and his time on the board, see the Dec. 19 issue of The Paper of Wabash County.
