WABASH, Ind. – The Wabash Elks Lodge No.471 was named the Lodge of the Year for the Indiana Elks Association’s Northeast District for 2018-19.
Exalted Ruler Wade Weaver accepted the honor from District President Jennie Terrell during the district’s spring meeting in Bluffton on March 9.
In addition, the Lodge received a membership commendation certificate from Grand Exalted Ruler Michal Luhr.
In other local news from the district meeting, Wendy Frazier and Joseph Slacian were initiated as District First Vice President and District Third Vice President, respectively.
In addition, Slacian was appointed as the Esquire to the District Deputy to the Grand Exalted Ruler. He joins Wabash Elks member Don Keller on the District Deputy team. Keller will serve as Auditor to the District Deputy during the 2019-20 Elks year.
Finally, Terrell received a plaque honoring her for her service as district president for the 2018-19 Elks year.
