Wabash County emergency Management Agency Distributes Weather Alert Radios

Wabash County Emergency Management Agency has received 50 Weather Alert Radios from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security for distribution to low income Wabash County resident.  The Weather Alert Radio offers early weather alerts for severe thunderstorms warnings, tornado warnings, flash flooding, snow storms, blizzards and civil emergency messages.  Weather radios have proven to be a lifesaving tool for weather events throughout the country.  Residents living in mobile homes are encouraged to get a weather radio for safety.

The Weather Alert Radio will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis until depleted.  Residents can get a radio by coming to the Wabash County Emergency Management Agency office in the basement of the Wabash County Courthouse at One West Hill Street between the hours of 9-11 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2016.  Photo ID with a current Wabash County Address is required
