Wabash City School Board Accepts Callahan’s Resignation

WABASH – On Monday evening Wabash City School Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of Superintendent Jason Callahan. Here is Callahan’s statement:

The following is a statement released by Wabash City Schools on January 5th, 2021

On behalf of Wabash City Schools, the Wabash City School Board of Trustees would like to congratulate Mr. Jason Callahan on his appointment to Assistant Secretary of Pathways and Opportunities with the Indiana Department of Education and thank him for the leadership and vision he has provided our district for the last 16 years. Wabash City Schools has built a reputation for being an innovative school district built upon relationships and this is in large part to the foresight Mr. Callahan brought during his time as superintendent. While we are saddened to see Mr. Callahan leave our district, we know he will continue to be an advocate for Wabash City Schools and the Wabash community. We wish him the very best with his new responsibilities.

The Wabash City School Board will begin an extensive search for our next superintendent and welcome both internal and external interest in the opening. It is important that Wabash City Schools is able to build upon our recent successes and continues to be a leader in innovative public education.
