Update to Shooting in North Manchester

 

UPDATE:

North Manchester Police Chief Jim Kirk issued a press release Wednesday afternoon, March 7, providing more details into the officer involved shooting on Tuesday night.

According to the release:

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – On March 7, 2018 at 5:58pm, North Manchester Police Officer Parker Stouffer made a traffic stop while working operation pull over. North Manchester Sgt. Nate Birch pulled in behind him to assist. North Manchester Officer Isaac Adams was also on scene when the driver pulled a gun and aimed it at officers and officer Stouffer shot the suspect, fatally wounding him. Three officers were at the scene but only one discharged his weapon. Officers and first responders at the scene performed CPR on the victim. Also assisting at the scene were Wabash City Police Officers, Wabash County Sheriff officers, Indiana State Police officers, North Manchester Fire Department, Chester Township Fire Department, Wabash County coroner and Parkview ambulance. The Indiana State Police are conducting the investigation into the shooting.
