MIAMI COUNTY, IN- The Community of Character Scholarship Application is now available and United Way of Miami County is requesting your assistance in sharing this opportunity with your graduating seniors who plan to enroll in and attend a post-secondary program in the fall 2020 semester. The post-secondary program does not need to be a four-year program. Students enrolling in two-year degree programs, technical schools, and certification programs will also be considered providing they meet the application requirements.The goal in awarding this scholarship each year is to encourage Miami County high school students to exhibit high standards of personal conduct and positive character traits. The essay must be typed and include the word count on the last page. The 750-word essay should describe how they have exhibited one of the traits referenced in their classrooms, in their community, and on the field. Any student who is planning to enter a post-secondary program that you believe to be of good character, regardless of economic need or the rigors of their academic curriculum, should be encouraged to apply for this scholarship.Applications are due back in the United Way office on January 31, 2020, by 4:00 p.m. Please feel free to contact the office if you have any questions.
