Two Probationary Wabash Police Officers Promoted to First Class Patrolmen

WABASH, Ind. – Two probationary Wabash Police officers were promoted to First Class patrolmen when the Wabash City Council met on Monday night, Aug. 14.

Officers Cody R. Palmer and Michael P. Castro received their oaths of office from Mayor Scott Long, as family, friends, fellow officers and others looked on.

Both officers successfully completed the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, where they spent 15 weeks learning criminal law, defensive tactics, emergency vehicle operations, firearms and other aspects of law enforcement, according to WPD Capt. Matt Benson, the department’s Public Information Officer.

Both officers are now on solo patrol.

Palmer is currently working on the third shift, while Castro is on second shift.
