Triple M Shoe burglary case remains active

GRANT COUNTY, IN- On June 25, 2023 at approximately 1:35 am, Grant County Central Dispatch received a call from a witness that observed a tan in color SUV ram the front of Triple M Shoe (1514 W Kem Rd) and 2 to 3 people exiting the SUV and ran inside the store and returned with what appeared to be shoes. The suspect vehicle then ran over the curb and fled the scene. The caller stated that the vehicle went East on Kem Road and then North on Baldwin Avenue. A second caller stated that he observed the suspect vehicle North on State Road 9 going into the county. While officers were still on the burglary scene, Central Dispatch received a call from On-Star reporting a vehicle in water in the area of State Road 9 and Bocock Road. Grant County Sheriff’s deputy responded to the scene of the crash and located the possible suspect vehicle from the burglary. The vehicle had been driven into a pond and there were no signs of the suspects. Upon retrieving the vehicle, it was determined to have been stolen.
