Togetherhood Completes Service Projects For Local Organizations

WABASH – Every year at TOGETHERHOOD, over 300 dedicated Wabash volunteers come together for a fun day supporting the maintenance needs of nonprofits. Many local nonprofits have trouble taking care of small maintenance projects around their offices because of the hard and important work they do in our community every day. Wabash non-profits have a lot of regular maintenance needs – washing buses, cleaning and emptying storage rooms, painting and freshening office spaces or taking care of lawns and landscaping.

This year around 250 volunteers helped 18 organizations Sunday afternoon work on service projects. The Wabash County YMCA is the organization that heads this up and Kurt Freeman from First United Methodist Church is the leader for the churches that got involved. Freeman said the event was successful.

He went on to say that even with the lower number of people helping this year, it didn’t deter from getting things done.

Freeman said there were a few things he would do differently next year but was very pleased with this event.
