Thomas D. Walton, 70 of Warren passed away at 7:29 am on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Parkview Regional Hospital. Thomas was a 1967 graduate of Huntington North High School. He had worked at General Motors in Marion for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Marion Coin Club, NRA, a former member of Bass Masters, member of the Moose Lodge #1778 in Gas City and most recently the Moose Lodge #837 of Huntington. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, trapping, coon hunting and mushroom hunting. He helped on the family farm for years and he had a great sense of humor and had a great time with his cousins the Zickafoose boys.
Thomas was born on August 10, 1947 in Huntington, the son of Herbert and Pauline (Tinkle) Walton.
He was formerly married to Marsha (Huffman) Walton.
Survivors include a son: Michael (Christie Brown) Walton of Warren; a daughter: Staccia (Michael Shockley) Grover of Huntington; his father: Herbert Walton of Warren; 9 grandchildren: Ashlyn (Justin Zeedyk) Douglas, Julia (Alex) Grover-Arnold, Natasha (Tribecca Kiefer) Grover, Zachary Grover, Nicolas Shockley, Alivia Shockley, Katie Shockley, Alexandrea Reinig, Christopher Geisman and a great grandson: Julian Castle.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Jimmy Walton and his mother: Pauline Walton.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 am with additional visitation prior to the service from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Scott Nedberg officiating.
Interment will be at the Mt. Etna Cemetery.
