The Apache Presence Program Provides Winter Clothing for Those in Need

WABASH, Ind. – On Wednesday, December 14, 2016, students from Wabash High School placed in the trees around the Wabash downtown area bags with hats, gloves, scarves and coats.  These items were for any individual in need, regardless of income and without any qualifiers.  In total, 80 bags were placed around the one block area.  As of Thursday morning at 9:00am, all but one bag has been taken.

We are overjoyed that we have been able to help our community to such an extent but realize there are still many in need.  Currently our surplus of cold weather supplies has been exhausted  so with the belief that no person should have to be cold, we are requesting that if any community businesses and/or individuals would like to donate additional hats, gloves, scarves and coats to TheApachesPresence program, they will be greatly appreciated.  All donations can be dropped off to the Wabash High School front office where students will sort, bag and prepare for placement of the items.  It is our goal to hang another round of bags as soon as we get enough.

As we mentioned in an earlier posting, “TheApachesPresence” program has the goal of not only providing for others but to continue teaching and modeling for students, and the community, “The Apache Way” of doing the right thing, the right way, everyday.  It is our hope that this small action will provide for others and carry on the precedent of paying it forward with random acts of kindness.
