Teacher Evaluations are in for Manchester Community Schools.

According to Superintendent Dr. Bill Reichhart, state law requires that the governing body of the school be presented with the results of teacher evaluations in the form of percentages for each category of effectiveness. He presented these numbers to the Manchester Community Schools; Board of Trustees at their September meeting.

For the school year 2015-2016, Manchester Elementary School had 16 teachers rated as effective (64 percent), and nine rated highly effective (36 percent). Manchester Intermediate School had six teachers rated effective (30 percent), and 14 rated highly effective (70 percent). At Manchester Junior-Senior High School, 15 teachers were rated effective (40 percent), and 22 teachers were rated highly effective (60 percent).

Visitors were given an opportunity for input during a public hearing concerning the Maple Park property owned by MCS. No comments were made, and the hearing was closed. According to Al Schlitt, School Attorney, the board is now free to decide how the property is disposed of.
