PERU, Ind. –  Every great organization has valuable people who work behind the scenes to make everyday operations run smoothly. For the Indiana State Police those valuable individuals are the civilian
employees who do everything from answering the telephone to analyzing D.N.A.

Recently, the Indiana State Police Peru Post lost one of those employees to retirement. Pam Woodhouse retired after 30 years of service with the Indiana State Police.

Pam Woodhouse started her Indiana State Police career in 1986 when she was hired as a secretary at the Indiana State Police Peru Post. Her responsibilities included everything from data entry, report writing,
to answering phones and greeting visitors at the post.

After serving as a secretary for 13 years, Woodhouse was laterally transferred to serve as the evidence clerk at the Indiana State Police Peru Post. This is a position she held until her recent retirement.
Her many responsibilities as evidence clerk included categorizing, storing, and releasing evidence. She also assisted troopers in filling out paperwork to have evidence analyzed. She maintained the paperwork to show the chain of custody for all evidence submitted by officers.

“Pam not only served with professionalism and skill second to none”, stated Indiana State Police Sergeant Dean Marks. “She also brought a since of caring and family to the Peru District. Pam was often a compassionate ear for people to talk too, she was always the first to volunteer for a cause, and she often
posted notes around the Peru District wishing Happy Birthday to employees on their special day”.

Woodhouse resides in Miami County.
