South Side Park Receives $4000 From Chili for Charity

WABASH – On Monday February 20th, Wabash Kiwanis Club received a donation of $4000 from the Chili For Charity organization. Most years CFC organizers have had an annual Bowl-a-thon in January to raise money earmarked for a specific community need. This past January, the designated charity was South Side Park. The Kiwanis Club is in the process of raising $50,000 to renovate the park behind the fire station at Pike and Vernon in Wabash. Pictured here is Kiwanis member Jordan Tandy and CFC committee member Wade Weaver. There are plans to do the upgrades on the South Side Park this Spring. Plans include new basketball goals,

removing old equipment

and adding a new playground similar to the Hannah Park project.

Tandy said this $4000 will go a long way to help make this park a great place for Wabash residents on the South side
