Single Vehicle Crash In Huntington County Claims Life Of Fort Wayne Man

HUNTINGTON COUNTY,Indiana — The Indiana State Police is investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred early Tuesday afternoon just east of Roanoke that took the life of a 40 year old man from Fort Wayne.
Preliminary investigation by Master Trooper Gary Shenefield indicated at approximately 12:50 p.m., a 1999 Buick Century driven by Brock Edward Bilyew, 40 of Fort Wayne, was traveling westbound on County Road 900 N near Gundy Road.
For an unknown reason, Bilyew’s vehicle drove off of the south side of the roadway where it struck a tree head-on.  Bilyew, who was wearing his seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The Huntington County Coroner’s Office is listing the cause of death as blunt force trauma.  There were no other occupants of his vehicle and the roadway was closed for about an hour and a half.
Shenefield was assisted at the scene by the Roanoke Police Department, Roanoke Fire Department, Huntington County Emergency Management Agency, Huntington County Coroner’s Office and the Fort Wayne Police Department.
