Friday, 5/29, we will be having our senior parade through Wabash beginning at 5:00pm. At the end of the parade, diplomas will be handed to the seniors who are there. If you are unable to participate in the parade, email principal Wieland.
Vehicles: Seniors will need to find their own vehicle for this parade. You’re encouraged to have someone else drive you so that you aren’t distracted. You may have more than one senior in a vehicle. Family or friends may be in the vehicle with you if you choose. Feel free to hang signs on the car or decorate the back/side windows with your name.
Lineup: The lineup will begin at 4:30 and we ask that all seniors arrive by 4:45 so that we can go over any last instructions before we begin at 5.
Procedure: YOU MUST STAY IN THE VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES!! The parade will be led by the Wabash City Police and Fire Departments. EMA will block intersections so you will not stop at stop signs or stop lights during the parade. If by chance there is a train, YOU MUST STOP! The parade will wait until the train clears to continue.
Diploma Pick Up: At the end of the parade cars will be directed through the front drive.Each car should post a paper inside their front passenger-side windshield with the names of the seniors in the vehicle. This will help us distribute the diplomas quickly. In order to keep the line moving, students will remain in their vehicles during this distribution.
Caps and Gowns: You may wear your caps and gowns if you wish. They aren’t the easiest thing to drive or ride in, but you can if you want to. We know some students have talked about going someplace for pictures after the parade which would be a good reason to at least bring your cap and gown.
Social Distancing: While on school grounds, you need to practice social distancing. If by chance there is a reason for you to be talking with people other than those who live in your house, please wear a mask and follow safety guidelines. .
