Senior Judge Springer to fill in for Superior Court Judge Cornell

WABASH COUNTY, Ind. – Wabash County Clerk Elaine Martin received an order from the Indiana Supreme Court at 11:05 on Monday.

The Honorable Amy Conner Cornell, Judge of the Wabash Superior Court, has notified the Court that she will temporarily be unable to perform the duties of her office, beginning June 9, 2018. We find that in the interest of continuing the orderly administration of justice and pursuant to Ind. Trial Rule 63, a Judge Pro Tempore should be appointed temporarily to discharge the duties of judge of the Wabash Superior Court. Senior Judge Karen A. Springer has indicated her willingness to serve as Judge Pro Tempore in the Wabash Superior Court.

IT IS, THEREFORE, ORDERED that Senior Judge Karen A. Springer is appointed as Judge Pro Tempore in the Wabash Superior Court effective June 9, 2018, and shall remain as Judge Pro Tempore until Judge Cornell informs the Court that she can resume the duties of the office and this Court issues a further Order.

This Order shall be sufficient authority for Judge Springer to continue the employment of

court personnel and otherwise discharge the duties of Judge of the Wabash Superior Court.

Judge Springer shall be entitled to compensation for her service, paid by the State of Indiana,

computed at the same rate as the regular judge commencing from the effective date of her

appointment, pursuant to Trial Rule 63(D).
