Senate District 18 receives Community Crossings Matching Grant

STATEHOUSE — Communities in Senate District 18 will receive more than $4.1 million to improve roads and bridges through the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program (CCMG), said State Sen. Stacey Donato (R-Logansport).

The CCMG, established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2016, aims to advance community infrastructure projects, strengthen local transportation networks and improve Indiana’s roads and bridges. Since it was put into place, the program has awarded more than $1 billion in state matching funds for local construction projects.

In Senate District 18, the following communities received grants:

  • Argos received $722,804.61;
  • Bunker Hill received $71,250;
  • Fulton County received $111,838.12;
  • Kosciusko County received $806,933;
  • Logansport received $794,469.91;
  • Miami County received $939,784.51;
  • Peru received $325,960.15;
  • Sidney received $28,263; and
  • Walton received $302,116.50.

“I am excited to see communities in our district are taking advantage of this financial resource, and I’m especially happy to see Sidney on this list, as it has never received CCMG funding before,” Donato said. “I look forward to seeing the positive impact these projects will have on our community as we continue to improve local infrastructure.”

Through the program, the Indiana Department of Transportation matches up to $1 million annually when localities invest in road and bridge repairs. Counties with populations fewer than 50,000 and cities and towns with populations fewer than 10,000 receive a 75%/25% match, while counties with populations of greater than 50,000 and cities and towns with populations of greater than 10,000 receive a 50%/50% match.

The CCMG offers two rounds of applications each year, with the next call for applications occurring in early 2022.
