Over 70 groups will set up at Paradise Spring Historical Park on Saturday, September 24th to showcase Wabash County History over the past 200 years.  EVERYONE IS INVITED – Reminisce at the Veterans’ table, visit your friends at the School Alumni exhibits, and for the sports enthusiasts, wear a vintage jersey or ball cap and come down at noon when they’ll highlight the history of sports in the County.
Actors from “Light Up the Town” will perform; Southwood Elementary music students, directed by Sarah Rees, will sing songs; the “Cannonball Kickers” will get you rockin’ with dancing, the Community Band plays and so much more!
Ashley Lengel, a sophomore at Southwood H.S., has painted a canal scene mural for the 200 Year Wabash County History Event.
Deanna Unger said, “We sincerely thank Ashley Lengel, a Southwood sophomore for sharing her artistic talent in creating the canal scene mural.  It took hours of work designing and painting during the hot August and Sept. heat to finish this project!  Thanks to her grandparents, Chris and Cheri Niccum, and Sam Frazier of Big City Paints and her Mom, Amy Wendt, for donating the supplies for the project!”
The mural can be disassembled to use for future displays at Paradise Spring Historical Park.
