Pursuit leads to arrests including Possession of a Machine Gun

MARION, IN- On May 9, 2023 at approximately 3:35 pm, Officer Andry was in the area of Swayze and Washington Streets, when he observed two people on dirt bikes with no license plates traveling south on
Washington. Officer Andry attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the two dirt bikes, but one of the
subjects fled going onto a sidewalk to pass traffic. During the pursuit the dirt bike left the roadway and
went into a yard, where the suspect lost control and crashed. The suspect (identified as Keshaun Taylor)
then fled on foot, where he fell in the roadway and at that time a pistol was dropped from his person.
Officer Andry after giving commands to stop released his K9 partner Hacker to make the apprehension
of Keshaun Taylor.

The second individual (identified as Matthew Goolsby) arrived in the area still on his dirt bike and was
stopped. It was later determined that the weapon Taylor had in his possession had been altered to make it a fully automatic pistol.

Matthew Goolsby (date of birth 8-13-2002) was arrested for RLE-Vehicle IC 35-44.1-3-1 LVL 6 Felony and
Poss. of Marijuana IC 35-48-4-11 B Misdemeanor.
