Prenatal Education Program to Receive Funds from Parkview Wabash Foundation’s 23rd Annual Gala

Wabash, Ind. – Oct. 5, 2017On Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 at the historic Honeywell Center in downtown Wabash, the 23rd annual Parkview Wabash Foundation Gala will take place. This year, the annual ‘Late Night in Wabash’ gala will raise money for Parkview Wabash Hospital’s Prenatal Education Fund.

In the Parkview region, 10 percent of babies have a low birth-weight and that can put these babies at an increased risk for complications. Low birth-weight babies are susceptible to other common problems such as breathing, neurologic and gastrointestinal problems, and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

Maternal health has been proven to have a direct impact on birth-weight in babies, which is why early and regular prenatal care for mothers is critical to the health care of pregnant women. Prenatal care is also a key step toward having a healthy pregnancy and baby. Parkview Wabash Hospital will offer classes and programs such as safe sleep, Period of Purple Crying (shaken baby syndrome), child birthing, breastfeeding, moms support group, baby basics, infant CPR, car seat safety and more. The Prenatal Education Fund has been established by the Parkview Wabash Foundation to assure support of this programming to families for years to come.

Join the Parkview Wabash Foundation for their annual Gala on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, to support the Prenatal Education Fund and remember, guests are encouraged to show their patriotism by wearing their best semi-formal red, white and blue. Military veterans are encouraged to wear their uniforms. Red, white and blue accent pieces will also be available at Ellen’s, where a portion of the sales will be donated to the Prenatal Education Fund.

Be sure to register soon, as seating is limited.
