PPD conducting second Jailbreak Fundraiser on April 11th, 2019

PERU, IN- The Peru Police Department will be conducting their second Jailbreak fundraiser on April 11th, 2019. Proceeds from the event this year will benefit the Honor Guard fund and the Christmas for Kids program. All participants will be charged with a crime which they may come up with or with the assistance of Officer Lee Mitchell. Once a crime and a nickname has been established, a WANTED poster will be made for you. The WANTED posters will be posted on their social media platforms to help promote your character. They also recommend displaying your WANTED posters on your social media pages and at your places of employment to help in raising your bond money, which is $200 for each participant. They will work with each character on your pickup time based on your schedule the day of the event and assist in promoting your character through various “BREAKING NEWS” stories leading up to the day of the event. If the public wishes to donate (no less than) $20 to keep their favorite (or least favorite) character in jail longer, they may do so by coming to City Hall the day of the event or by making prior arrangements with Officer Mitchell before the day of the event. You may also remain anonymous if you wish. The participants will not be made aware of the donation against them until they believe they have met their $200 bond. If someone donates $20 (or more) against a participant, they must raise that money against them to get out. For questions about the event or to learn how to get registered, contact Officer Lee Mitchell at dmitchell@perupd.org or at 765-473-2150 ext. 514.
