Police Respond to Homicide Investigation

GRANT COUNTY, Ind. – On 12-30-2020 at approximately 10:19pm Grant Central Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a shooting in the area 7900 East 700 South. Officers from the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, Upland Police Department, Taylor University Police Department, and the Indiana State Police responded. Upon officer’s arrival a white male, 18 years old, and a white female, 18 years old, were found to be shot inside a residence. Medical aid was rendered, Ambulance personnel on scene were unable to save the female victim. The male victim was later flown to a hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and at last report was going into surgery.

The investigation is still ongoing and developing at this time. Officers from the Marion Police Department, the Jonesboro Police Department, and the Grant County Coroner are also assisting in this case. Grant County EMA and EMS along with the Upland Fire Department also responded to assist.

The names of the victims are being withheld at this time until family notifications can be made.
