This from kokomoperspective.com: KOKOMO, IN- Monday at approximately 1 p.m., Kokomo Police Department received a report of a single vehicle accident in the east parking lot of the Kokomo Mall. KPD accident investigators determined a 2008 Dodge pickup truck, operated by a 25-year-old Kokomo male struck a pedestrian as the vehicle was traveling southbound through the parking lot. The pedestrian, a 76-year-old Peru woman, was transported to Howard Regional Health and then later transferred to an Indianapolis Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Dodge truck cooperated with this accident investigation. The driver was transported to a local Kokomo hospital for a toxicology test, which is required in an accident involving serious personal injury. This morning, at 4:55 a.m., the victim died at an Indianapolis Hospital. Her name is being withheld at this time pending notification of family members.
