Peru Community Schools Board Recognizes Winners And Transfers Funds

PERU,Indiana – Monday evening, Peru Community Schools held their regular board meeting. Peru Superintendent Sam Watkins recognized the Black and Gold award winners were Peru Varsity Wrestling Team and Coach Andy Hobbs. Watkins also recognized the Peru Swing Choir with Coach Dr. Jason Gornto for receiving a Gold in the District and State competition. Teacher Nori Marockey in his first year and four students gave presentation on American Sign Language. The students at the meeting said that sign language is another way to communicate and they have learned a lot about deaf people. Assistant Superintendent Ken Hanson says summer school will be available this summer

Here are the Peru Junior High curricular courses that will be available for next year: Magic of Electrons and Medical Detectives, Digital Citizenship, Exploring College and Careers and Project Lead the Way Science and Gate Way Class. The Board approved a resolution that transfers the balance of the Severance Bond Fund to the Rainy Day Fund.
