Parkview Wabash Hospital Welcomes Dr. Kenneth Pennington to the Oncology Program

Wabash, Ind. – Feb. 17, 2017 – Parkview Wabash Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of Kenneth Pennington, MD, Parkview Cancer Institute – Oncology, to its cancer care team. Dr. Pennington will practice at the hospital on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“The practice of medical oncology is very rewarding and I truly enjoy the personal interaction with my patients,” said Pennington, who has authored and co-authored over two dozen publications and abstracts. “I’m really excited to join Parkview Wabash and also to work closely with the care teams at the new Parkview Cancer Institute at Parkview Regional Medical Center. The care model being developed there is second-to-none, utilizing an interdisciplinary approach that puts the patient at the center of everything.”

Pennington is Board-Certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. He completed his residency and fellowship at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Pennington earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Wabash College and comes to Wabash after practicing at IU Health Goshen’s Center for Cancer Care for 15 years. Prior to IU Health Goshen, he was a consultant in medical oncology and hematology at Arnett Clinic in Lafayette, Ind.

“Treating cancer patients is very complex and it requires many disciplines. It is our job as caregivers to coordinate with other facilities as needed, including the Parkview Cancer Institute and others, to offer the best care possible,” Pennington added. “Recent advances in therapy are also very exciting from a physician’s perspective. There has never been a more rewarding time than now in cancer treatment and research.”
