DENVER, IN- North Miami Community Schools will be canceling school on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 due to a majority of North Miami teachers requesting leave to participate in Red for Ed Action day. Educators, parents, and community members from across the state will be attending a rally at the Indiana Statehouse to advocate for the future to Indiana Legislators in support of public education.
North Miami administration and School Board members have decided that it is in the best interest of students to cancel this school day as there will not be proper safety and adequate instruction for learning, with the majority of our staff participating in the rally.
Please note this is a change in the school calendar for 2019-20. Under Indiana State code, this canceled day is required to be made up. North Miami Community Schools will determine the make-up day at our next school board meeting on November 19th.
