New Shows announced at Honeywell Center

 

WABASH, Ind. – Two more shows have been added to the Honeywell Center’s line-up of entertainment.  The shows include the very popular Irish singing group Celtic Thunder, and the annual Wabass Institute performance. Tickets will go on sale Fri., March 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.

Celtic Thunder will perform on the Ford Theater stage on Thurs., Oct. 18, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. The group has sold over 3.4 million albums and has been hailed as BILLBOARD’s “Top World Music Artist,” along with “Top World Music Imprint” and “Top World Album” in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2015 and again in 2016.

Backed by the amazing Celtic Thunder Band, singers Damian McGinty, Ryan Kelly, Michael O’Dwyer, Emmet Cahill and Neil Byrne will perform numbers including “Sons of Light”, “Toora, Loora, Lay”, “The Wild Rover”, “Right all right”, and “Castle on the Hill” followed in the second act by nostalgic fun songs like “Celebration”, “I’m a Believer”, “Seasons in the Sun” and “Rise Again”. Celtic Thunder has toured throughout the U.S., Canada and Australia, performing well over 1,000 shows. Tickets are $100, $69, and $49.

The Wabass Institute will be performing on Fri., June 29, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the Honeywell Room at the Honeywell Center. Under the direction of Ranaan Meyer, string bass musicians from across the country travel to Wabash to attend Wabass Institute, a one-week-long, full-scholarship string double bass camp. These young musicians will spend the week with talented clinicians, culminating with what promises to be a brilliant performance.  Tickets for the performance are $20.

Wabass Institute is a unique performance institute located at the Honeywell Center in Wabash, Indiana. The full fellowship summer institute is led by three of the music world’s most exciting bass players: Harold Robinson, Eric Larson, and Ranaan Meyer.  Wabass is an intensive, one-week summer music camp exclusively for double bass players ages 14 and up, covering the entire spectrum of bass playing from basic techniques to classical, jazz, and orchestral excerpts. The week includes private lessons with all three teachers, master classes, faculty recital, student recital, and guest lecturers.
