WABASH – The Wabash County Historical Museum plans to celebrate Indiana’s Bicentennial on Friday, September 2nd during their monthly Family Fun Night. This event is free for the public from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. By hosting this Bicentennial themed event, the museum hopes local families will take an interest in the upcoming county festivities, particularly the Torch Relay at the end of September.
Guests can expect to make two different crafts with local artist, Erica Tyson. In anticipation of the upcoming Bicentennial Torch Relay, kids will make their own flashlight torch as well as a personalized location necklace. The museum also plans on offering free cupcakes, balloons and an upcoming opportunity to play in the Parkview Wabash Education Center.
Director of Public Relations, Brooke Duecker said, “As the county prepares for the Torch Relay and other local events, we wanted to spark an interest in the Bicentennial with young people and also encourage parents to engage with their children about Indiana’s 200th birthday.”
The Wabash County Historical Museum is located at 36 E Market Street in downtown Wabash.
